Why are you interested in becoming a Full-time Overnight Host?
Please describe any leadership positions you currently hold or will hold in the near future.
Please list any current job positions that you hold on campus.
Is there anything else you would like to share with us about you, your interests, or goals to better support you as a Full-time Overnight Host?
*Please note that full-time Overnight Hosts will be asked to host overnight visitors on 4-5 program dates throughout the academic year. They are also asked to host when a prospective student registers for an individual overnight visit. Individual overnight visits are typically offered on Monday or Thursday. These will be spread out as evenly as possible among full-time hosts.
Host Responsibilities and Commitment
I confirm that my roommate(s), if applicable, and I are fully vaccinated; I also understand only prospective students who show proof of having the complete COVID vaccination will be permitted to stay overnight in a campus residence.
I understand that as a student host, I am expected to abide by Ohio State Law and The College of Wooster’s Scot's Key, which includes the Code of Social Responsibility regarding personal conduct, alcohol and illegal drug policies.
I pledge not to provide alcohol or drugs to any student guest of the College.
I understand the importance of inclusiveness and having a deep appreciation and respect for student diversity, identity and various backgrounds. I will do my best to provide an experience that promotes these same values for each student guest.
Full-time Host Commitments
In addition to abiding by the guidelines and expectations of all overnight hosts (listed above), you will also be required to fulfill the following commitments of the Full-time Overnight Host program.
Commitments include:
1. Assist in volunteer host recruitment each semester. This can include, but is not limited to, tabling during meal times in Lowry, creating and hanging promotional posters, recruiting volunteers during student organization meetings, etc.
2. As part of the Overnight team, you will be responsible for assigned "on call" days of the week (typically each host will have two days each). On-call assignments include the following: hosting a prospective student; or, reporting to the Admissions Office between 4:15 - 5:00 PM to assist with the host matching process. Should the assigned volunteer host not fulfill the commitment, you are responsible for hosting the student for that evening.
3. Attend all overnight host meetings scheduled throughout each semester. Typically, this includes a kick-off meeting each semester along with 1-2 additional meetings as needed for key overnight events.
4. Be available to support the host matching process and serve as an overnight host for designated admissions events. This includes one program in early November, the Sunday night before President's Day in February, the Thursday before the Spring Visit Day (typically scheduled in relation to Good Friday), and two admitted student programs scheduled in March or April. All overnight dates will be shared at the beginning of each semester.
5. Work closely with the student Overnight Recruitment Leaders to ensure all overnight requests are covered properly. Communicate any concerns about an overnight in a timely manner to the coordinators.
6. Respond to all communication from the Overnight team in a timely manner.
7. All furniture in the room must stay there, please do not request for it to be removed.
