The Clarence Beecher Allen Scholarship is awarded based on outstanding intellectual achievement, extra-curricular involvement and leadership, personal merit, scholarship essay and on-campus scholarship competition.
Students selected as finalists are invited to participate in the Allen Competition Weekend. While on-campus, finalists will be evaluated by faculty and staff members to determine the Allen Scholarship recipients. The evaluation process consists of two, 45-minute group sessions with a focus on academic initiative, social engagement, and leadership. In addition to the scholarship competition, Finalists and family members will explore campus and interact with professors, students, staff and alumni.
The Allen Competition Weekend is Sunday, February 15 - Monday, February 16, 2015.
African-American students applying for the Allen Scholarship must submit a completed application for admission and this application form by January 15.
International Applicants are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
