H.L. Johnston Scholarship Application
The Herrick L. Johnston Scholarship in Chemistry
is available to students entering The College of Wooster in the fall of 2026 with an interest in chemistry or biochemistry & molecular biology. This scholarship honors the memory of Herrick L. Johnston, Class of 1922, Sc.D. 1943, and was established in 1982 by Margaret Vanderbilt Johnston Dittmers.
The Department of Chemistry will award two $5,000 scholarships. This
one-year, non-renewable
scholarship will be awarded on the basis of a strong interest in chemistry or biochemistry/molecular biology. A career in science should be the sincere goal of the applicant. If the scholarship recipient applies for and receives financial aid from The College of Wooster, the Herrick L. Johnston Scholarship in Chemistry will be included in any package received. However, the scholarship will first be used to reduce educational loan and work study components in the financial aid package.
Deadline: Monday, February 2, 2026 (11:59 a.m.)
Please complete this scholarship application with the same credentials (name, email, etc.) that match your application for admission.
